ACCESS Support invites Universities and research institutes to propose Regional AI Workshops (taking place between October 2026-March 2027) that help expand AI knowledge, skills, and adoption across research and education communities. These workshops may be held in-person or in a hybrid format and should engage researchers, educators, students, cyberinfrastructure professionals, and other stakeholders interested in artificial intelligence. Through this program, ACCESS Support aims to foster regional AI communities, connect participants with national cyberinfrastructure resources, and expand opportunities for AI-enabled research and education.

Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Alignment with AI education, research, and workforce development goals
- Potential regional impact and audience reach
- Plans to broaden participation in AI
- Hands-on Sessions
- Feasibility of the proposed event
ACCESS Support Will Provide
Selected organizers will receive:
- Funding assistance to support select workshop expenses (space, catering, travel support)
- Help identifying and recruiting speakers, instructors, and subject matter experts
- Guidance on workshop planning and promotion
- Access to resources and best practices

- Workshop title and description
- Organizing institution(s) and primary contact
- Proposed date and location
- Target audience and expected attendance
- Workshop goals and anticipated outcomes
- Estimated budget
Assessment Requirements
To help evaluate the impact of these workshops and improve future programming, all funded events must use the ACCESS Support assessment process. Organizers are required to administer ACCESS-provided pre- and post-event surveys and submit attendance and assessment data following the workshop. Survey instruments and instructions will be provided by ACCESS Support and must be used as provided unless prior approval is granted.
